Probably a cost-cutting measure as much as anything... AIUI most commercial broadcasters - particularly Five and ITV1 - are trying to concentrate their budgets in peak-time, where the biggest audiences are to be had - and are cutting as much as possible from their daytime programme budgets.

Wonder if they'll replace it with repeats or an import, or a cheaper location-based show, they can get runners to shoot on Z1s?

As I posted, Broadcast have a denial that Jeremy Kyle will be affected by cuts to daytime - although I'm sure more repeats will be included in it's broadcast. IIRC not so long ago they basically commissioned it for a new episode every day, rather than filling the holiday slots for example with repeats. I'm sure with Jeremy Kyle they could easily save cash by cutting the amount of new episodes and mixing in more repeats, whether that's in a block over the summer or one or two repeat episodes every week.

Thanks

Yes, an hour long special tying up loose ends from series 2 and series 3.

The ITV Press Centre say it will air in Q2 and Q3 so expect it between now and September, so at some point over the summer.

Thanks that is helpful, it's a fantastic show and one of the only reasons I watch ITV1, excluding Corrie and Emmerdale

No doubt these plans have been put on hold due to the economic climate.

Probably right, but still that looks like a great platform to develop for, could have been the base for Project Kangaroo actually (wikipedia-entry http://is.gd/qT7H-).
