Interesting to see that Saturday Night Takeaway was credited to ITV Studios Ltd, even though it was still followed by the ITV Productions ident.

Same old ITV then.

I think that show is on the verge of past it now. It was a case of "How many zelebs can we pack into one show?" again tonight - abysmal! If it wasn't for Ant and Dec (and even they're already tired out by it all) then the show may as well be on ITV2. Oh and not to mention Miley Cyrus forgetting the lyrics to her OWN song!

What happened to the wind ups? and the piggy bank thing?

Fair enough though, we're in hard times I guess.

They seem to be gradually phasing in the lower third credits to live programmes, Dancing on Ice, now Takeaway.

I got annoyed at the Birds Eye adverts sponsering Britains favourite tv programme, i didn't think Doctor who was allowed to have sponsors, especially on itv. Wink

A slightly revised version too which allowed an extra line, although the ECP cut it off. Surely it wouldn't be too difficult for ITV to have a simple strap version of the ITV Player ad so the whole picture isn't obscured when live action continues in the background.

ITV Studios Ltd has been in use for a while now, for example on The Krypton Factor, which also has the ITV Productions endcap.

I may be wrong, but it looks like this is because if programmes use the "standard" credits, they're not allowed to use their own background anymore, and are only allowed to use a black background now (which seems to have been the case since they stopped using the blue stripes).

Apart from Dancing on Ice and Saturday Night Takeaway, the only programmes I can think of that used their own backgrounds were Tonight and I'm A Celebrity..., and these now use standard credits with a black background.

I think it's a shame that programmes like Dancing on Ice and Saturday Night Takeaway now use the "soaps" credits, because the images at the top now get completely covered up by the ECP. At least with the old credits, the picture was still viewable when the ECP was used.

It was nice to see the boys back, I was hoping for more changes though, I don't understand why they've stuck with the guest announcer, Ant vs Dec was ok, the wedding sketch was very good in my opinion. I don't think it helps that they've had the same set since the show started. The escape from Takeaway Prison made me reminisent of the first series of takeaway with Banged up with Beadle, and features like Make Ant Laugh.

I gather ITV Transmission/Continuity is moving out of the South Bank soon - anyone know more? Is it being out sourced like the BBC with Red Bee?

I would have thought with all the changes at the South Bank since 2002 transmission wise they would have been fully equipped for a while to come - seems like a mad expense.

Strange bit of news but ITV1 is to introduce a new 'brand' strapline - "The brighter side".

Sounds a bit Monty Python. At least they've put the money saved from axing all those regional newsrooms to good use though - I'm sure someone got handsomely paid for thinking up that one.
