Wasn't there actually one series (about 7 or 8 years ago) that was actually set during 1970
and used the music from that year before reverting back to the generic 60's era?
I seem to recall on an edition of ITV2's "Soap Fever" (remember that?!?) sometime in 2001-02, they went behind the scenes of Heartbeat. (Strange for program about soaps, but there ya go!) In the segment, Geoffrey Hughes (Vernon Scripps) said
to camera something along the lines of "We're setting it in 1970 now." ... or words to that effect.

I don't think so, but they're not so strict about sticking to 60s music anymore - records like "Double Barrel" by Dave and Ansel Collins, "The Air That I Breathe" by the Hollies, "Desperate Dan" by Lieutenant Pigeon and even "Only You" by the Flying Pickets have turned up on the soundtrack. But all those cars are still taxed to Dec 69.
Have ITV ditched the black background ECP? Twice at the end of emmerdale they've had the now, next and later over the fly-over of the village instead of the black background.
I have to ask What was on ITV on a sunday before 1992????
Highway, Surprise Surprise, Londons Burning and Hale and Pace were a part of my growing up during the mid 80s early 90s (Didn't want Highway though)
Highway? Not Highway To Heaven I remember that, it was awful
Remember London's Burning (when it was great) and a parts of Hale & Pace. I always used to remember Sunday nights for Tarrant On TV, do they still make new ones of that?

I noticed that yesterday too (on Emmerdale). Could be a simple error but looks much better for it.
