Let's see if we hear anything about ITV2's rebrand today. With just two days to go, I'm surprised we've heard nothing.
I was just thinking the same, pad. It's unusual for a major broadcaster not to try to eek some additional publicity out of a 'rebranding' prior to the event. On the basis of ITV's track record I'm not expecting to fall off my seat when all is revealed.

Quite.
Well if anything I hope we get some new trailers (I dislike the current ones) and the logo is tweaked even if only slightly so the 'itv' text is readable. It's as bad as it was on the yellow/white ITV1 logo IMO, before they switched to yellow/black.

I personally want an evolution not a revolution. I'm happy with the current logo, but as I've said, they could do more with it than leaving it to be a 2D after thought.
As for the actual logo, I'd like to see all channels be given an Art Attack style 'go round the edges with a marker pen' treatment. So that the lettering can remain white, and the logo shapes could animate (flip, turn, whatever you want) between channel logos, having one colour on one side, and a different one on the other, seperated by the black band.
I think it would bring them all back together, rather than having some with white lettering, and some with black, etc.
To the actual rebrand... I'm surprised that they haven't unveiled anything yet, but could that be what Wednesday is for? Have reporters got their wires crossed, or have the press office released the wrong details, could the new look be revealed at the channel's autumn launch on Wednesday, and go live in the next couple of weeks?

I think you ought to provide a mock of this because what i'm envisaging in my mind isn't pretty.

I can't do it, it's looking terrible in a paint trial. The idea is a black line around the letters, the number, and the shape. As for the other bit, that's just nonsense, unless they ever use the logos in a 3D form.
In my opinion itv 2's new logo should focus on the two if it is going to try and move away from the corporate style, but still keep the itv block and adding a circle gradient away from the dot of the i something like this:
Still strange how there's been no news.
We'll have to see what, if anything happens tomorrow, or if it is simply the autumn launch where they reveal their new look in a press conference.
