Piers Morgan has signed a golden handcuffs deal then with ITV for 2 years to include 2 more series of Britains Got Talent, a chat show, three more documentaries and some "interview specials".

He joins Vernon Kay, Ant & Dec and Simon Cowell as the only others on exclusive deals.

His documentary about Sandbanks was interesting, aside from him sleazily shmoosing with his famous "friends" who live there.

I'm glad he's getting a chat show. It'll die on its arse and he'll be released from his deal.

I like your sense of potential schadenfreude in this instance, Gavin Cool Perhaps after his telly career has faded, he can return to his honed skills in share-tipping, stalking and front-page manipulation.

I always find this clip always sums up Piers.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here but Ben Shephard and Denise Van Outen will present a new Saturday night show, 'Who Dares Sings!'. Details here.

Hardly new - these karaoke formats seem to be the latest thing going around, with JK & Joel doing that one for ITV last year and Shane Richie doing something very similar for Sky.

That series with JK and Joel was quite good, shame nothing has been said about it returning. It was more about remembering lyrics to songs rather than karaoke.

Mike Scott Dies

Couldn't think of anywhere else to put it but former ITV presenter and executive of Granada TV Mike Scott has died aged 75. He fronted The Time The Place for a while too.

Why does ITV1 only produce special trails for promoting **** like Glitterball and now Bingo Night Live? If standard trail endboards were half as good we might actually see some decent pres on ITV1. Rolling Eyes

Does this contract include a clause stating Headcases must stop dropping large and heavy things on his head every week?

I do hope not.

It also aired before the Britain's Got Talent final, interesting after the ident introducing the programme and before the sponsor. Was a bit of a shame really as BGT is one programme that's not been implicated in these problems, though of course Ant and Dec has, and the production company slightly with issues with The X Factor - though the show has no direct links with Soapstar Superstar.

I'm guessing that's all virtual then. Is it being filmed in the UK or have they packed off to Latvia or somewhere?

It's a real set, and from what I can see from the credits it's filmed at 3sixtymedia (so that would be Granada in Manchester)
