I see that the rounded edges and moving vertical yellow stripes elements have now disappeared from all aspects of ITV presentation. The yellow stripes were OK, but the rounded edges adopted for the IPPs and the credit promos in Corrie and Emmerdale looked terrible.
The colour black has always been an option for end credits, but the corporate blue seems to have been preferred for in-house productions until now. I always thought the black looked better when the screen is split - the half black and half blue backgrounds didn't look as smooth and integrated. But now they may have gone too far - with some ECPs having no other colour on screen bar black and white when they are promoting ITV.com
I noticed that ITV have followed Sky with US imports - on Pushing Daisies last week (before the other pres changes has even been implemented), there was no ITV "Pushing Daisies" captions between the programme and the Toblerone sponsorship bumber going into or coming back from the commercials.
I also see that programme menus seem to be back in fashion again. it won't last
And any new idents that don't feature yellow and or flowers would be most welcome...
The idea of the ITV logo opening up, which was dropped after the first set of idents, is now back in fasion, with the ITV logo opening on the endboards and the IPPs.
