"Someone at DS said"...

... in other words, bollocks!

IF - and only IF, it's going to screen at anytime other than in the 5pm hour, it would be at 12.30pm at the earliest.

To be honest I'm surprised they're still going ahead with this at all - I'd assumed it had been quietly dropped, but then again I should know ITV better.

Maybe they'll extend GMTV to 10:00 - or could they stop GMTV at 9:00?

Here we go again. Rolling Eyes

What's that supposed to mean?

It said 10am from January on the ITV.com website, but has now been removed, and the info has been changed to "Get ready for a new daytime medical drama, coming to ITV1 early next year..."

Maybe they will put pre-school CITV on from 9.25-10.00am! Laughing

Or maybe they could have a news summary at 9.25, and then Wish You Were Here? Which is being recomissioned isn't it ?

The Sun says 4pm for The Royal Today. Only one can be true, unless it will have two viewings a day like Neighbours.

I do like the idea of them using the logo in a different way to sum up the programmes that are trailing.

Couldn't they use these little links at the start of the trails? They would work well especially to split up back to back promos.

I think the problem with the current ITV1 idents is that they are all too samey, they're all quiet relaxed scenes, with the same plinky plonky music. Even the Jan 2006 idents offered a variation in both content and soundtrack, the current just make the channel feel old in my opinion and aimed at a older audience, well that's the impression I get, and most probably why I've been watching ITV1 less in the best year than I used to.

I think I even prefered the celebs and animation as they didn't really add an age to the idents, these do, they seem to give me the elderly female/housewife vibe.

Which then clash with the chavy female announcers Laughing

Tell me about it. It's highly frustrating. How do they expect it to be successful if the accessibility is so restricted?

Also, someone on DS has said that The Royal Today will go out at 10am.

Let's just say this is true for a minute: firstly, what about Jeremy Kyle? secondly, what will go at 9.25pm for half an hour? and lastly, wouldn't the ratings suck there?

Any thoughts?

Id imagine ratings would be poor for a drama series at that time. Perhaps 12.30pm would be better, or even 2pm straight after the lunchtime news.

I understand The Royal Today will be half an hour and run for 10 weeks (50 episodes). Interesting as most daytime slots these days on ITV1 are 1 hour long (apart from the news and This Morning). I guess Wish You Were Here? which is also meant to be returning will be half an hour too - cant imagine that being dragged out for 1 hour. So the schedule could be

12.30pm The Royal Today
1.00pm Wish You Were Here?
1.30pm Lunchtime News

GMTV though is a separate ITV licence though, so would it really be feasible to extend or shorten it.

Is this only if certain regions aggree? or can they just opt over Jeremy "Shouty" Kyle.

Technically Ofcom would have to agree to it.
