Was Echo Beach not originally going to be shown on ITV2?

I think it was but ITV were so impressed with it apparently, so they wanted it on ITV1.

I think it would have worked better on ITV2 - people could have just switched over after MW ended.

What difference would it have made being on ITV2?!

It would have been like an "extra" type show on ITV2 where people had the option to watch the soap being discussed in Moving Wallpaper if they wanted to.

I think the original idea was for Echo Beach to be on ITV1, and Moving Wallpaper to follow on *ITV2* as the "extra" show.

Obviously, it didn't work out that way.

No, it was Echo Beach that was meant to be on ITV2, not the other way round. In fact the original plan was to have Moving Wallpaper air nightly for couple of weeks at 10pm on ITV1, with Echo Beach airing straight after on ITV2.

I think that could have worked quite well although obviously that was before it was announced News at Ten would be back.

Peter Fincham has made his first commission by bringing back The Fixer. He said the show will be "bigger and better" and the article has said the series will probably include more "action" which I felt the show did lack first time round. So a couple of much needed tweaks but no major changes.

Great news anyway - I'd say it was the best of ITV's new pack of dramas this year.

Ugh just heard Trish Bertram on an ITV1 trailer. I thought the days of that smug sounding voice were gone, or at least relegated to multichannel tv.

Or BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Manchester, where she is station voice.

Seriously though, Trish is a legend around these parts, not least for her part in the LWT farewell celebrations

She's been on Five for years - at least since ITV...hardly 'multichannel'......( or, given it's audience figures... maybe it is !!)

ITV1 Summer 2008 Promo

There's a 60-second version floating about as well which is quite nice. UTV seem to have edited theirs slightly to include shots of a regional programme which will be airing here called 'Portrush Sea Rescue'. It comes in just after Trinny & Susannah at the end.

Very nice ITV1 summer promo, that end shot would look lovely as an ident, though with it being ITV1, I doubt it will become one, just look at Christmas!
