Did Headcases finish last week or is it taking a break to make way for Ultimate Force ? I'm sure it said it was a run of eight episodes in the Radio Times .

According to Radio Times it's being shown on Friday 30th at 10:30pm so it must be being moved because of Ultimate Force

Or BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Manchester, where she is station voice.

Seriously though, Trish is a legend around these parts, not least for her part in the LWT farewell celebrations

its nice to see that Moving Wallpaper will return next year, and that Echo Beach, its accompanying soap opera.will not,

I never really like that soap opera, although like many others have said it could have worked on Itv2

Was Echo Beach not originally going to be shown on ITV2?

I think it was but ITV were so impressed with it apparently, so they wanted it on ITV1.

I think it would have worked better on ITV2 - people could have just switched over after MW ended.

What difference would it have made being on ITV2?!

It probably wouldn't have been such an embarrassment on a non-flagship channel. Wink

They could have put it in a different slot at some point in the week where ITV1 wouldn't to try and pick up more viewers. Well saying that they could have left it in the Thursday slot and aired Trial & Retribution on Fridays.

It was a bad fit, it was a post watershed comedy matched with a daytime soap which was totally wrong in a 9.30pm slot.

However in order to "get" the in-jokes and crossover from Moving Wallpaper, Echo Beach really had to follow straight after.

What they are proposing, incoporating the scenes from the soap into MW sounds a much better prospect.

As others have said Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach didn't fit together. It was like having a sitcom about the making of Scum and then asking us to watch the serious drama afterwards. Moving Wallpaper will, I think, become a success next time out.
