Ive found some information on the new look ITV Daytime Schedule

Quote:

Dale Winton is to host a new quiz show as ITV1 tries to boost its daytime schedules, it was announced today.

The star — who made his name on the station's Supermarket Sweep — will front I'm The Answer this autumn, in which contestants are given solutions and have to work out the questions.

ITV1 is also introducing a new reality quiz which will last an entire day — called The 24-Hour Quiz — and a makeover series, Design Wars, to boost teatime audiences.

ITV1 has commissioned a number of new shows which will slot between 5pm and 6pm in the wake of Crossroads being axed for struggling with ratings.

Finding new shows to improve daytime was one of the major challenges facing ITV1, station controller Nigel Pickard said today.

Speaking at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival he said: "I think there's room for improvement in daytime and off-peak."

The new-look daytime schedule on ITV1 includes Moving Day which looks at the trials and tribulations of moving home.

The 24-Hour Quiz will begin with a half-hour slot at 2pm, shifting over to ITV2 and returning to ITV1 for a further 5-6pm show.

Three contestants compete for a cash prize and will be constantly bombarded with questions and one of them will get the boot during the challenge, to be replaced by one of 10 others

Im assuming Trisha, This Morning and Del and Mel will also be back in their usual slots.

I like the Idea of that Quiz being on 1, then 2, then 1 again. That sounds good. I do think that quiz shows work better at Tea time instead of Soaps. I know I was a Big fan of Crossroads, but It looks like viewers just dont like soaps on at 5.

Looking forward to new ITV1 daytime (not that I watch much of it, I do work) but I always think that ITV during the day is better than BBC One. Once you've seen 1 DIY show, you've seen them all! Even though I do like a little Trading up, when This Morning gets boring around 11 o'clock.

As for new idents, well I'm sure they will be here before we know it. I would like ITV1 to have some special Daytime ones. That would be nice...........But I may as well keep dreaming as it wont happen!

I spoke to Carlton today and they told me the schedule for the 8th Sept will be

9.25 Trisha
10.30 This Morning
12.30 ITV News
1.00 Today with Des and Mel
2.00 Everything Must Go
3.00 ITV News
3.05 Local News
3.15 CITV
5.00 You've Been Framed
5.30 I want that House
6.00 Local News

So it looks like those new programs arnt starting yet - but this schedule is subject to change.

Everything Must Go for an hour ? Have you missed something out, is there no regional show at 2.30pm ?

I don't mind "I Want that House" as a property show it's quite interesting.

No I double checked with them when he gave that schedule and they said it was on for an hour - however they did say they were provisional schdules do dont take it as gospel thats what will be on! Maybe they will have another show at 2.30pm but it wont be regional as that slot is being axed along with Shortland St due to poor viewing figures.

They wouldnt give me any info at all at first but I talked them into it LOL

I agree anything is better than WWTBAM at 5.30pm LOL

I want that house is......no sorry, WAS a fab show. The 1st series with that Blond Kate woman was good, but today series 2 started with that Mark Simpkin and he is rubbish. I found the whole show boring.

Jez: You spoke to Carlton...lovely. You and Mr Carlton get on very well do you?? Only Joking. You phoned them or e-mailed? So SS is getting axed in every Carlton area forever? Really Forever or will they drag it back again soon?
Today WestCountry at 2:30 had 'Tamsins westcountry something or another' on, so have they already stopped showing it? Shame.

As for everything must go for 1 hour, no way. Scottish have Scotland today at 2, then show whatever network had at 2 at 2:30. I bet 2:30 is 1 show for Granada areas, 1 show for Carlton areas, UTV use 2:30 to show old shows they missed at 5 or 5:30 cos they have UTV live, e.g. at the mo they show Crocodile hunter diaries which they never had on when network did. Grampian use 2:30 for Corrie repeat and like I say Scottish use it for showing the ITV Network 2pm show.

Finally, with the new series of Trisha, I hear the New Trisha Extra coming on ITV2. Well God forbid. The Guy on that show is not my cup of Tea so I cannot watch. Who else is not keen on that show? The whole Trisha thing has gone too far. Bring back the Now very thin (ok then…. still tubby) Vanessa. She could stir up sex, Lie detector tests and ‘who’s the Father’ shows for ITV1 Mornings.

I have to say the young sounding bloke who works at Carlton duty office is a lot more helpful and to the point than the women they have there - all they say is "we have no information to give you"

Unless the ITV Network decided to show SS then it is gone for good on ITV - I got this e-mail from them and they say they have no plans atm to show it - Westcountry apparently got very poor viewing figures according to Mr Carlton - worst than London did, so maybe that why they axed it a bit sooner.

If itv dont show it basically im screwed.

I also e-mailed Carlton to ask why SS isnt on next week as the slot is regional and got this reply - this e-mail is very badly written though - they dont even have their usual "kind regards" rubbish at the end!

We cannot as we have other programming scheduled in these slots.

We cannot advise further however your comments will be logged at Carlton.

Im surprised Westcountry are showing a regional programme at 14:30 rather than opting for the ever-popular Shortland Street!

Jez - it just wasnt to be!

Lets hope Living TV pick it up and start showing it some respect!

I say "Bring Back Bob Mills" and Win Lose or Draw!!!! He was a hell of a lot more entertaining than Trisha. She has had that slot now for about 5 years or something and it is well time she is pushed away to a graveyard slot during the night.

What does everyone else think???
