One of the reasons in the past that GMTV don't utilise this studio full time is that the backdrop would make the show to 'London-centric'.

It's an odd reason given that ABC, NBC, CNN, and CBS all have there breakfast shows with a backdrop of a bit of New York, yet no-one ever conciders those shows too 'New York-centric'

However, with This Morning and Loose Women already having a backdrop of London, it makes daytime ITV1 look very London-centric (yes I know LW and GMTV would be using the same view0.

A promo for the extended ITV News was just broadcast on the ITV Evening News with the new ITV Day graphics.

Didn't really like the new promo as part of the news, the i t v blocks in the bottom right show 3 different gradients of the orangey yellow and then one blue stuck on the end. The whole colour concept doesn't really work for me, [B ]reds [/B], oranges and yellows mixed together - fine, stick some blue in there to remind us we're watching ITV and it all suddenly seems wrong. It all reminds me of TV-AM or early BBC Breakfast News to me. I entered the comp to win THE red rug on Thursday's This Morning but bet I don't win. Loving the ITV DAY promo though, especially the long version with Ben Shephard pulling up those shorts....mmmmm

Just seen the ITV News promo here on UTV, at the end they have tried to split the screen into two sections, one with the ITV news team, and the other the UTV Live team.

Are we thinking that at 9.25am they will show the long promo, just like they did when the ITV1 celebrity idents launched

Talking about UTV Day, It'll also be interesting to see if they actually employ an announcer to cover the daytime period, or whether idents will just run clean as per usual
