Well they did not show us anything today but Fern said she hate's the new colour.

Yeah I saw that, and Phil once again said that he'd been up all night painting it. I presume that it will take the yellow, orange and red colour scheme though. Maybe even changing the 3 squares.

And with that understanding, maybe the rug will stay.

I like the ITV Day promo advert, it has all the daytime presenters like Nicholas Owen, Katie Derham, Andrew Castle, Ben Shephard, Melanie Sykes, Fern Britton, Philip Schofield etc etc.

As for ITV Day. The promo is nice, though when I saw Andrew Castle, Ben Shepard and Lorraine Kelly I thought that it was for GMTV.

I wonder why they haven't included any of their female faces (bar Katie Derham).

The female faces used in the ITV Day promotion were :- Katie Derham, Melanie Sykes and Carole Smilie! Only Lorraine Kelly can be deemed a female from GMTV!

Indeed. I've noticed a longer promo today featuring Carol Smilie, Jenni Barnett, Gino Di Campo and a few others.

Part of me hopes that they will show the full thing as a start up on Monday, I actually missed not having one for the change last November.

UTV Live @ 5.30 must do really well, or is it more a case of meeting the news quota?

It does really well. Last figure quoted on here by someone whom I cannot remember put UTV Live as having 200,000 viewers versus BBC Newsline having 150,000 viewers.

The 1800-1830 part does much better than 1730-1800 bit, which *I think* is beaten by Neighbours but I don't have the figures in front of me at the moment. I suspect they only keep it there to fulfil the news committment. UTV Day starts Monday. Wonder how much effort will be put into that?

Jenni Barnett

Nooooooooo! Please don't tell me that she's escaped from UKTV Food. She's one of those awful presenters who seems to believe that if you just shout everything, no-one will notice that you're not very good.

I noticed today whilst I was on the South Bank that the This Morning set has been changed. It looks like the window has been framed more and the colours look pretty Orange although it's hard to tell through the tinted glass. Maybe shades of pink sneaking in too!

I also noticed that This Morning has decamped to the old London Tonight/Loose Women studio, if anything it looks better, even though it's temporary.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!!!!! I'm glad someone said that - I thought I might be a bit strange for thinking that a cheaper, temporary studio actually looked better than the normal one. In my opinion, the overall 'feel' and colour scheme is a bit of a throwback to a few years ago - a bit more old school.

What I can't stand is the obsession with going for the 'modern' look. All those light colours that give such a 'spacious' feel, with plain surfaces and open spaces (and of course the hideous red rug!). This goes for both the studio and the logo/graphics.
I say, bring back the warm friendly colours, cosy sofas and flowers from the 90s!!!

I think that the view is better though, and it's a shame that somebody else doesn't use that view on a permanent basis. I still can't understand why GMTV don't use it. The set would even fit perfectly round the windows.

One of the reasons in the past that GMTV don't utilise this studio full time is that the backdrop would make the show to 'London-centric'.

It's an odd reason given that ABC, NBC, CNN, and CBS all have there breakfast shows with a backdrop of a bit of New York, yet no-one ever conciders those shows too 'New York-centric'
