OH
Oh come on! You haven't even seen any of the programmes yet! Give them a chance where some may be better than the plethora of home/diy/antique/auction programmes that the BBC are continually broadcasting EVERY morning!
YAWN
Really?
Lets have a look at the first schedule shall we?
Dull format - not even a new one at that.
As of now, but with an extra 30 mins of the Theater of news - wow.
Run of the mill (cheap) daytime quiz-fest.
Yet another attempt to get an audience for this PMT-fuelled chatshow
Arrrghhhh
Ok, I concide - that's a new one.
As of now with no change of slots- so, nothing really original here. Why not just plug the new shows at 9.25 and 2.45 instead of creating a half-baked 'ITV Day' strand, to con the audience into thinking it's all brand new shows and something exciting..?
You people just dont want to even give things a go!
All I was trying to get across was that ITV *seem* to be trying a few different ideas (some borrowed from primetime Channel 4 possibly) and some from elsewhere - but hopefully it should make a change to the continual auctions, antiques, diy and home moving on BBC One every morning! I could take half hour of any particular genre but when the whole morning appears to be the same I find it boring.
If I wanted to watch wall to wall homes or antiques I would tune into a digital channel like Discovery home and leisure or some UKTV channel for that - I dont expect the main tv broadcaster (that we all pay for) to provide a sub-standard service.
I for one will be giving ITV Day a chance and hope it lives up to the publicity.
There are now some video clips at :- http://www.itvsales.com/itv/opencms/itvsales/news/articles/itvdaylaunch.html
PS I wouldnt say This Morning is a tired format yet as it is continually changing and adapting. Throughout the last year they have broken away from the scheduled items to bring breaking news and continuous coverage of other stories aswell. The BBC tried copying the This Morning format and failed miserably. Also the one hour lunchtime news should be welcomed! I dont see any one hour bulletins on BBC One in the daytime?
