Oh come on! You haven't even seen any of the programmes yet! Give them a chance where some may be better than the plethora of home/diy/antique/auction programmes that the BBC are continually broadcasting EVERY morning!
YAWN

Really?
Lets have a look at the first schedule shall we?
Quote:
9.25am People's Court UK

Dull format - not even a new one at that.
Quote:
10.30am This Morning
12.30pm ITV Lunchtime News

As of now, but with an extra 30 mins of the Theater of news - wow.
Quote:
1.30pm Perseverance

Run of the mill (cheap) daytime quiz-fest.
Quote:
2.00pm Loose Women

Yet another attempt to get an audience for this PMT-fuelled chatshow
Quote:
2.45pm Mum's On Strike

Arrrghhhh Shocked Ok, I concide - that's a new one.
Quote:
3.30pm CITV
5.00pm The Paul O Grady Show
6.00pm Regional News
6.30pm ITV Evening News

As of now with no change of slots- so, nothing really original here. Why not just plug the new shows at 9.25 and 2.45 instead of creating a half-baked 'ITV Day' strand, to con the audience into thinking it's all brand new shows and something exciting..?

You people just dont want to even give things a go!
All I was trying to get across was that ITV *seem* to be trying a few different ideas (some borrowed from primetime Channel 4 possibly) and some from elsewhere - but hopefully it should make a change to the continual auctions, antiques, diy and home moving on BBC One every morning! I could take half hour of any particular genre but when the whole morning appears to be the same I find it boring.

If I wanted to watch wall to wall homes or antiques I would tune into a digital channel like Discovery home and leisure or some UKTV channel for that - I dont expect the main tv broadcaster (that we all pay for) to provide a sub-standard service.

I for one will be giving ITV Day a chance and hope it lives up to the publicity.

There are now some video clips at :- http://www.itvsales.com/itv/opencms/itvsales/news/articles/itvdaylaunch.html

PS I wouldnt say This Morning is a tired format yet as it is continually changing and adapting. Throughout the last year they have broken away from the scheduled items to bring breaking news and continuous coverage of other stories aswell. The BBC tried copying the This Morning format and failed miserably. Also the one hour lunchtime news should be welcomed! I dont see any one hour bulletins on BBC One in the daytime?

Well 'THIS MORNING' is getting a New set for the relaunch on the 11th as they have just said next week they will be coming from the studio next door as they have the builders in.

according to mediaguardian, the reason that Trisha is on from 11/04 - 16/04 is because of technical issues that are going to delay broadcast of the peoples court. Not a good start for this new look daytime!

Oh, and Andrew Castle is the presenter of the quiz, "Perseverance".

I'd heard he'd landed the job of presenting "Skirmish", a military-based quiz, on digital cable channel, UK Conquest. At least it would be more his style. Wink

The package was produced using an innovative combination of live action and animation. The people featured in the idents were shot in a blue screen studio while the backgrounds and some foreground elements were created in 3D.  After Effects was used to pick out multiple layers from the live action which were treated with contrasting colours using a combination of rotoscoping and keying.  Animation was used to create lots of additional detail and action in both the foreground and background so that every time the ident is shown the viewer will see something new.

Looks good to me... quite possibly better than the main ITV1 idents IMO.

I have no problem with This Morning it´s a fantastic morning show that definately has developed in the last three years. However do we really need one hour of news on ITV? The BBC managed a concise and in depth look at the morning news in half an hour followed by regional news. Are we just going to get more opinion and less news... To be frank, I don´t care what Jane Bloggs from London thinks of the days headlines, i´d rather half an hour of quality news. But then again, I have yet to see the new hour long broadcast. We will have to wait and see...

Indeed they do. Though to me, they look very autumn and wintery, not that nice for going into Spring.

Going back to This Morning, will they studio next door be the former London Tonight studio so that they still have some view on London?

I wonder how majorly they're changing it, usually it's decorated, but many there's more. Thinking back, the actual current layout of the set most probably dates back to when Richard & Judy were still there. Infact has it changed since they moved to London?

They actually updated the set to begin the new 'season' in AUtumn 2004 - with new sofas, and different rugs - which IIRC was the first time they changed the design since R&J's time there.

Wonder if it will be completely different - suppose it must be if they are moving out for a week.

They changed the titles a bit aswell. They added spins[thats probably the only way to describe it!] and changed the font.

Yeah it was more Bold, i wonder if they will keep the block theme to match ITV 1/ Day.
