Sorry to be the voice of dissent here, but I really think these idents are awful.

The 'lifestyle' images are just so patronising and cliched: women trying on dresses, doing aerobics, bathing the kids - oh pur-lease! They look like something off an early 90s Tampax advert.

Idents aside, changing the name of your channel for much of the day just makes a complete mockery of their attempts to reinforce the ITV1 brand. Why on earth is it not called ITV1 Day?

UTV Day used something similar to the ident ohwhatanight posted as going into the 10:55am ITV News, into This Morning at 10:30am. Whether this is the only ident they have I don't know. Have yet to see any other pieces of UTV Day pres.

The This Morning titles are now really short - the presenters complained that they couldn't sing along to the music any more!

If it is ITV Day Wales in Wales, is it ITV Day Scotland in Scotland???

Nope, nope.

I think it's been mentioned, but Scottish have stuck with their old style blue Celebrity 'Mark I' idents. They ran the long new promo for ITV Day just before Loose Women (the one that features the 'faces' of the daytime schedule) but it had a blue Scottish/Grampian generic endboard with the heading simply 'Daytime'. Complete colour clash really - orange themed promo with a blue endboard.

A bit disappointing really considering ITV Day branded posters have been heavily promoting the new schedule on bus stops and outdoor billboards across Edinburgh. Not sure about the rest of the country.

Pretty poorly thought out in terms of brand recognition there then. I'm guessing ITV decided to promote the new scedule UK wide but weren't willing to tailor the outdoor adverts for Scotland. Seeing as SMG probably wouldn't pay for alterations or meeting the advertising costs, I guess decided to just let them go ahead with the ads as they were.

I don't really understand the logic here either. It's not like BBC One would brand something like this, as it would give the impression that it's something happening across the network (like the China Week, or NHS Weeks that they've had in the past).

To be honest, when I first saw the words 'ITV Day' it was on the forum here, and my immediate reaction was 'Oh no! Not that ITV Day of Promise thing again!'. Just becuase it's not really obvious straight away what it means. A bit of an ominous brand I think.

When there has a been a relaunch/rebrand in the past the one thing that everyone has previously forgotten is the opening graphic to CITV!

But, alas, today they had actually changed it to ITV DAY and the clock now reads 15:30 with a different song - rather than the catchy (but annoying) quarter past three on citv song!

The only thing ITV NEWS has changed is the bigger desk and a different background on the CSO screen
THIS MORNING titles seem to be a little short!

ISTR they had very short titles when they relaunched with Twiggy and the Nolan woman. Didn't work then either.

As usual, Scottish & Grampian haven't bothered at all. I can't say that it surprises me. Like UTV, although they are part of ITV, Scottish & Grampian are fiercely independent. Anything to do with ITV1 on air is frowned upon.

UTV is fiercely independant too. There have been no billboards or advertising in NI for ITV1 Day. UTV never show anything to do with ITV1. Half the time they don't show the "coming next" board at the end of programmes due to the ITV1 branding. UTV probably went with the new idents (instead of ITV it has the UTV logo) because it blends in with their current colour scheme. Its just far too orange for me though. Gives me a nasty headache.
