If ITV2 +1 proves popular, i guess ITV3 +1 and ITV4 +1 will probably follow. CITV Channel +1 is also possible - especially as most of the Kids channels have +1's.

In addition, if Men & Motors is now staying and performing quite well in the ratings, i guess Men & Motors +1 could eventually be on the cards as well.

well thank you for that fantastic insight Rolling Eyes

since we're stating the obvious - i would like to point out that today is thursday and tomorrow will be friday.

It won't be, if you had taken the time to look at the original statement from yesterday, it states that ITV2+1 will only be available via Cable and Satellite.

urg, +1 channels are the most redundnet wastes of air space ever divised by man, especaily in the light of HDD-Recorders.

For C4 the main reason there wouldn't be a +1 is probably rights based. To a lesser extent for C4 but a greater one for ITV1 would be the question of which region would be on the +1 feed.

It is such a shame that the five main channels do not have a timeshifted version.

For the commercial channels, if there are no rights issues involved (although you seem to think there are and I don't know either way), they could increase the amount of advertising cash they could command by a reasonable degree.

Perhaps.

As one of the lucky ones with SkyHD (which has Sky+ functionality), HDD recorders are truly astonishing bits of kit. However, owners of HDD recording systems are still very much in the minority.

It's no better than a VCR, forget to set it, you miss your programme.

I think rather than having +1s, they should have +24s where you can watch yesterday's programmes today at exactly the same time.

Like most people I don't have time to trawl the schedules and mark out what I'd like to watch that evening, or often forget to record or watch it and go out or do something else, thereby missing the programme completely.

Often, I only twig hours later when looking through the paper or a TV schedule site and by then the +1 would have completely missed it. A +24 would enable me to watch or tape it the next day.
