Anglia's triangles were a strong symbol - I always liked the Thames TV inverted triangle/skyline/FrizQuadrata thing
This is more "which region did you grow up in" than which is best.
Either way, I'd still say the Anglia triangles.

I tend to put HTV's aerial and Granada's G in the same class in terms of creative design. Granada's G pointing north is pretty genius in terms of "doing what it says on the tin". HTV couldn't make its symbol region-specific for obvious reasons but they still managed to make it relevant to television.
I actually think the Central cake as a logo was pretty bland. The implementation in idents is what saved it.

The Granada G succeeded so much that you didn't look at it and see a G with an arrow coming out of it. You saw the Granada symbol. In the same way some people look at a Vauxhall and don't register a Griffin holding a flag. They just see a symbol that represents Vauxhall. It's just a shame it was replaced with that horrific skinny pink G.

No, not from me.
35 years on, I actually quite like the Southern 'Star' logo, more than I did back in the 70s, but that doesn't count, because it was the region I grew up in (and still live there now)
So still no love for the Yorkshire chevron?
