Rather than take the UTV thread even further off track a couple of posts there got me thinking about the ITV companies of today - probably as many as in the regional era but mainly in the production section, with some simply bought out (but retaining identity) and others created by ITV.

Now we could probably just google this but where would be the fun in that - so these are the ones I can think of if people can add to the list:

ITV Studios
Shiver
Potato
12 Yard
So Television
LS
Lou Scannon
What's the name of the production company based in the Estover area of Plymouth, which I believe is now ITV Studios-owned? AIUI, their building has also been home to the West Country (west) newsroom since the 2009 changes.

Twofour Group who themselves own a number of indies.

There's also Possessed, Big Talk, The Garden and a ton of international companies.

They're all here in fact: https://m.itvstudios.com/studios/uk/partners

Talpa too, but does look like many are vanity projects and produce little more than one show. I guess though it does make sense to keep the independent brands so they can be sold off at a later date if necessary.

They still own half of 3sixtymedia, which although no longer operates studio facilities, still exists as a post-production company, based at MediaCity.

They're not really vanity projects, it's more about ITV keeping the best talent. New indies are constantly being set up by the best execs hoping they can get a few commissions and look like an exciting enough company for a megaindie to offer them a fortune for it. By giving them their own label with their own sizeable stake in the business, ITV are skipping this part and ensuring they've got all the execs who they know will deliver them the goods and bring in the money.

And selling labels off isn't really a thing as ITV always keep the IP to the shows they made. The label would simply close if the execs decided to leave and they'd set up a new company/label with a new name elsewhere.
