To be honest as much as I've slated the afternoon reruns of the likes of Poirot etc. - they'd probably be better off just re-running The Royal itself in the afternoon.
DangerMouse wasn't an ITV production as such, it was made by Cosgrove Hall Films which was then part of Thames Television (as in ITV London Weekday...). The programme therefore ended up on the ITV Network. Since then Thames has lost its franchise, changed ownership a few times and now no longer exists on its own, rather as part of talkbackThames, now owned by Fremantle. Therefore Dangermouse is available to any UK broadcaster who wants it, therefore its apparently now on BBC Two somewhere.
Well if its 50 episodes it will last for 10 weeks if its on 5 days a week. Not very many episodes to order - didnt they order a years worth of Crossroads back in 2000/2001?

They ordered a years worth in 2003 too... but still axed it early. Although to be fair Crossroads didn't fail, its ratings were as good as they were going to be, its a case of this new soap will need time to build a fan base - something Night and Day and the 'new' Crossroads wasn't given.
