They were dated before that happened - well, Catchphrase at least!


Family Fortunes on the other hand still has potential if they returned to proper familes, not celebs. Although it still is more suited as very much an early-prime filler programme than being at the heart of the schedule.


Anyhow, in other gameshow related news ITV have dropped plans for a UK version of The Rich List, which if you may remember was supposed to be Eamonn Holmes big break into US TV - and then it got dropped after just one episode!

I would have said the other way round regarding Catchphrase & Family Fortunes, then again it's looking back quite a few years now (Roy Walker left in 2000 I believe) and the phrase "rose tinted spectacles" comes to mind Very Happy

And a spelling bee would of course be ten times more exciting then revamping something that we may actually want to watch?
