ITV has signed up the rights to a new quiz format based on a "spelling bee" in which contestants sing in the blanks of partial song lyrics.
The show, to be called Singing Bee or Sing in the Blank, was snapped up after executives saw just a paper outline of the idea, according to US trade magazine Variety.
Normally broadcasters insist on seeing a filmed pilot before committing to a show.
ITV is currently developing the show, with a 90-minute broadcast pilot expected to air in a Saturday evening format later this year.
