ITV Idents (Post Christmas)

Its the countdown to the trailers its only normally seen at the broadcast centres.

There were no trailers. It went straight from advert to break bumper to ident to news. I wonder if they dropped some trailers to make up some time and the running order wasn't updated properly. The clock was on screen for only a split second.

Talking of ITV junctions. Does anyone else see their television go in to 4:3 mode after a break? I think my TV has done it ever since ITVs relaunch. Not after every break but quite regularly. I have also seen it happen on ITV2. This happens on DSat (Sky SD) and Freeview HD. I have also seen it happen on another Sony TV elsewhere with a similar set up. It goes back to 16:9 after a second or two and it has never affected the programme or any other channel.

Is it me, or did ITV show a Christmas ident at 7:30 just then?

I know channels start their christmas pres earlier and earlier, but ITV are going to the extremes this year!

Haha they just showed one of their christmas idents (ok it isn't a very chritmassy one, the jukebox one) before Corrie just now.

Seemed very strange they would suddenly show that ident. Its not like they haven't got many others to choose from.

They seem to have broken from the seasons in the last week showing different ones from different sets, but many were more fitting however Christmas ones? Tbf many shops have already gots promotional material saying 'merry Christmas'.

Yeah, I saw the Pugwash ident the other day, and as one of the day one idents (bear in mind that the relaunch was in January last year), that one is clearly part of the spring set, not autumn. They've definitely abandoned the seasons concept. As for the Christmas ones, well they're not very festive anyway. I certainly didn't see much difference from the usual idents.

As is appropriate. Maybe that's the idea, matching them to programmes instead of seasons?

ITV2 appears to have put a bit of effort into Halloween. It may only be a change to their autumn on itv2 promo graphics and simple ghost idents, but at least it's something. It makes me a bit hopeful for this Christmas after itv2 had nothing last year.
