They haven't changed much at all. The yellow box for programme times was changed to pink, but the background is still that of the trailer design that was replaced with the 2013 rebrand.

And the font is the one ITV News was using at the time of the 1998 rebrand. It should've been changed to the corporate font back in 2006. The current graphics style has been around since at least 2005:
Strangely, I was channel hopping last night and came across Nightscreen and seen the old CITV logo and thought the same thing. Also, is Nightscreen a Powerpoint presentation or something? It freezes for a split second when a new section is about to start. It's odd how they use 24hr times for programmes and I noticed a few spelling mistakes as well when reading some of the descriptions. The stock photos for programmes could do with updating and the descriptions of programmes are all generalised. I understand it's a barebones info service but if they are going to make it at all then why not put even a little effort into it?
Wiki suggests Nightscreen is outsourced to gower.co.uk and is Scala driven, which is basically similar to the sort of things you may see in doctors surgeries and other interactive boards that can be updated remotely as opposed to pushing a new local file out every few hours. Those have a "pause between sections" thing as well so it must be either by design or a way the system works. Either way its a cheap filler to put out at 4am in the morning and I suppose as long as its relatively accurate, if bland and in need of some attention, ITV aren't that fussed about it.

It's also a much higher standard of programme than 30 min long American infomercials for household equipment. 'But wait! Order now and we will also include this 200 part accessory set absolutely free'
