Or maybe just maybe they want to shout about the fact that long running soap Emmerdale originates from that building?

Should have followed their genre promos and gone with a "Where Emmerdale lives" sign Smile

Very interesting DBL.

One thing I take from that is how brilliantly the network of channels works together with their design flow. This has been ruined a little by ITV2's change IMO. Three years on and I'm still incredibly happy with the branding. I'm pretty sure that I've been sick of every other set of ITV(1)'s idents by 3 years yet these are simple and effective and have worked very well - possibly due to the amount that there are.

Indeed, it doesn't feel 'tired' compared to the 2006 rebrand, which quickly I remember lots of people on here was pointing out the flaws.

Seems this ident hasn't aired yet:

How does ITV link to ITV 2 (and vice versa) when doing a trailer etc. now that ITV 2 have a new look? I can't say I've ever seen a trailer doing that flow recently. For that matter, I can't say I've seen them linking ITV 3 or 4 programmes in a trailer in some time. Have they ever did one linking CITV also?

I don't see them ditching the logo, at the very least, any time soon - it's the best way I've seen them tackle the visual problem of ITV as a group of three letters.

Seeing as the current ident style is pretty inoffensive, I can see it lasting a decade.

Cheers for that. Do you have a recent one showing ITV > ITV 2 or ITV 2 > ITV? Does it still use the dot as a transition I wonder or is it like CITV with a splash screen that comes out of the corner etc.?

I still like the rebrand, especially the number and variety of the ITV idents, and how easy it is for them to film and add new ones, I also like most of the music used in them (although one or two pieces I really don't like).

One of the few things I don't like though is the lack of creativity at Christmas. We have now had the same few christmas idents for 3 years now. Christmas should be the one time to try something different and special. Also the rest of the continuity package at christmas also feels quite poor, including the break bumpers, promos (although I do love the snowflake opening and closing) and end credits. It all feels a bit last minute and not cared about much which is a shame when you see some of the lovely packages we had a few years before the rebrand (not including the awful 2011 lot with the text santa characters just added on!)
