ITV Christmas ident discussion

2005 was the last time we had proper Christmas idents,. 2002 saw the normal celeb idents with sparkles added onto them, 2003 saw the celeb idents again but with sparkles and a more jingly theme.

Nice ident that's debuted today, although it's weird to have ITV1 at the bottom rather than left of centre.

That's exactly what I thought. Reminds of the BBC2 Christmas ident from 2005.

Well well, it looks like ITV are sorting themselves out this year at last. Very nice idents.

They look much better on TV than on YouTube too!

A shame it seems there is just the one ident (with so many break bumpers I'm sure a couple of variations could have been made), but as a whole the package works superbly and looks great in the idents, break bumpers and promos.

ITV1 has a Christmas ident? I better pinch myself.

It's not bad either - not sure about the music though.

I'm so glad that they've put in some effort this year, and it looks lovely. It seems to be the day that everyone is putting up their Christmas decorations.

I presume the Channel 4 are the only ones who haven't done anything yet, and based on other years I'd presume that they wouldn't do anything, but they do have a lot of Christmas specials.

Anyway, back to ITV, I noticed the Christmas sparkles on ITV2, how random to not even add them to an ident.

ITV1 seems to have now started advertising a lot of programmes over Christmas, including a clever re use of last years Dancing On Ice trailer.

There was a rather nice christmas ident in 2002 i believe which was only used before the news?

I think you might be thinking of the 2003 chistmas news ident, which features large 3D snowflakes falling down the screen forming up the ITV1 logo, which has to be my favourite ITV1 christmas ident.
