ITV today announced that Adam Crozier, Chief Executive, is stepping down from the Board and his role after seven very successful years.

Ian Griffiths will step up to a newly created combined role of Chief Operating Officer and Group Finance Director. Ian will also lead the executive team for an interim period, with Sir Peter Bazalgette, ITV Chairman, taking on the role of Executive Chairman during that time. The company has a well developed succession plan in place and a longer term successor to Adam will be announced in due course.

His past work at Royal Mail etc suggests that he builds up a company into a paper profit and leaves before it is sold off.

In ITV's case his whole strategy has been to invest in, in-house content creating & facilities. The studio business closure would seem to be a change of direction & indicate that either ITV will be sold soon or there has been some sort of boardroom disagreement where he wanted to keep the studios business and the executive wanted rid of it.

I'd be nice if there was an about turn on closing TLS now if the new incoming boss disagreed with it. I believe a major TV company should at least own one set of studios.

They do and still will even if TLS closes. Leeds and Manchester are ITV owned studios - admittedly just used for soaps these days.

Leeds and Manchester are permanently set for soaps. Even Leeds isn't really convertible into multi camera studios since the refit.

I still wonder if ITV's board still has STV in their sights...

Not a chance with a 2nd Ref hanging out, I also heard there were plans drawn up if there was a yes vote in 2014 for ITV just to give up on Borders Scotland.

What exactly does that mean? I've never read anything that has said they are planning a takeover of STV except on forums that think owning the whole ITV network is their number one goal.

Doesn't mean anything, just a thought.

I hope not, this has been their strongest identity for sometime.

I hope not as well, the current branding for the whole of ITV is really strong and could easily go for many years yet. Don't mind if they introduce new idents to main ITV channel but I am still happy with the current look.
