Obviously we all know whom own the itv1 channels and where they are run from etc but who (what company) owns and runs itv2, itv sports channel and other conerns?
Surely independant television (itv) was just an umbarella title for all the local channel 3 tv stations and wasnt that much of a significant company - surely all the smaller companies made up 'itv' and were all part owners.
So by deduction those who own itv1 channels own the other newer itv channels?
ITV2, the channel, is owned by ITV2 Ltd. Carlton owns 38% of ITV2 Limited and Granada owns 61.40% at 30 September 2000.

The ITV Network Ltd acts on behalf of the members who are licensed by the ITC to broadcast the ITV television service in the UK. The primary function of the organisation is the commissioning, acquisition and scheduling of programmes for the ITV network. The company also undertakes the production of on-air promotions for the ITV network and the clearance of television commercials prior to transmission to ensure compliance with the ITC´s statutory code. Other activities include the registration and credit listing of advertising agencies approved to deal with memebers, and R&D of new technology and techniques for television broadcasting. In addition the company acts for members in other matters of common interest.
ITV Digital (former ONdigital Holdings Ltd) is a joint venture (50/50) between Carlton and Granada.
ITV2 Ltd, ITV Network Ltd and ITV Digital are independent companies.
IMO, ITV sports channel is an activity of ITV Digital, but I´m not sure.
