You can choose to believe me over this or not; it's up to you.

Emmerdale is going to adopt a 60 minute format on Mon Wed and Fri, dropping all other episodes. Coronation Street will retain its 30 minute slot but move to half eight to help 9pm drama which will now be comissioned as 1 hour shows. At least once a week it will be on for one hour though the day has not been decided, likely to be Sunday. There will be a huge marketing campaign to promote the timeslots and the new slots are part of radical schedule upheavals at ITV to create stronger schedules. Other shows affected include The Bill, Heartbeat and its sister show The Royal, and Tonight With Trevor McDonald. The news is staying where it is at 1.30pm, 6.30pm and 10.30pm for now - no further changes can be made in the evening unless negotiations are entered into with Ofcom.

That theory doesn't always work though. Surely quite a few of the people in the know will be far too busy to be posting on internet forums all the time? Wink

Its all very well for you to say, but when you dont quote a source for your information why should we believe you?

There is no source; if I divulge further information I will be compromising my job.

Whether it's fact or fiction it would actually make a lot of sense, and free up some slots for other programming.

I do believe this, we've had this type of thing before and it wasn't true then

If this was going to happen I'd expect it to be in Media Guardian (such as BBC are planning to axe Real Story, ITV are planning to reduce the hours of CITV etc)
