ITV Champions League highlights bump News at Ten

Can't find where we were discussing this originally, and I know I called it wrong, so those of you who thought ITV would air the Champions League highlights at 10pm and bump News at Ten to 11pm can feel a little big smug as that's the plan according to Digigude, though they will also screen a 30-minute programme at 11.40pm too.

I guess the English teams will feature in the main show then the rest in the later show, though that does mean barely 10 minutes per match. Just a shame the rights wouldn't allow them to do an hour-long show on both nights.

Europa League highlights will air on ITV at 10.40pm on Thursdays, while in the provisional schedules at least it doesn't look like ITV or ITV4 will screen the Champions League Magazine show.

I know I called it at the time, I think 10 minutes is pretty standard for highlights these days and really gives ITV it's own cut-price MOTD.

Also as well I know it'll be the first chance for viewers to see proper extended highlights of the Tuesday matches but by that point most people will have seen the goals on the news and read the match reports, so in reality there's less value in highlights from Tuesday's games at least. An hour and a half is more than enough, really.
