ITV Be

Has anyone seen the feathers ident?

Or, more pertinently, has anyone watched ITV Be? It seems that it's being pushed and promoted more than ITV Encore, but I'm not sure if that relates well or poorly to its ratings.

I think whoever's in charge of publicity (or whoever's in charge of commissioning for that matter) should be shot. I haven't encountered a single person who I've watched an ITV Be advert with where the other person hasn't said something like "what a load of s***" or "that's one channel to avoid".

287k is a big drop from 1.07m. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out TOWIE is all that's keeping it afloat.

I'm not surprised about the TOWIE ratings considering it's brought a loyal band of viewers over from ITV2, however the rest of the top 10 shows a more realistic figure for what this channel is achieving or not.

Personally I think a whole channel based on structured reality formats is stretching it a bit, even if MTV have managed to monitise this format with Geordie/Jersey Shore et al.

As for Encore, I've watched one or two shows, but as most if not all the shows I've seen on ITV or ITV3 and don't really wish to see again, I think it'll need first run drama ahead of ITV to succeed.

I would imagine ratings of 300k are enough to keep the channel afloat even if they are dwarfed by TOWIE's figures.

E! isn't on Freeview though where as the Freeview effect will of course inflate BE's share. Encore is of course only on Sky and NOW TV.

ITV Be +1 and ITV Be HD launched on the 19th November exclusively to Virgin Media. +1 on 120 and HD on 179.

Apparently ITV Be+1 and ITV Be HD are testing on Sky.
