Judge Rinder is probably the natural successor to Jeremy Kyle. Perhaps they should alternate them.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'd doubt they would drop it too as if rates so well. I just wish they would as I feel it brings the whole channel down (the channel is still recovering after years of mismanagement).
As for the new Be channel, I'm still not convinced of the need for this new channel. Is ITV2 to become even more of a ITV dumping ground than previously...maybe they can put Mr Kyle's show on there permanently instead (Kyle's work at BRMB was far better than his TV show imo).
Jeremy Kyle is the only thing that consistently rates well for ITV Daytime before the quizzes, they're hardly going to ditch it.

It would be great to see Jeremy Kyle tackle some serious issues, heart warming stories, etc and would make the programme feel less trashy, however I doubt that this would rate as well. I for one can't stand the programme the majority of the time but feel that a lot love revelling in someone else's misery.

There do, just never often.

And Kyle's team has at least helped some of the guests, particularly those with drink or drug issues. As you say, at least Kyle's show has an element of 'honesty' in the format, unlike This Morning with it's faux women's weekly agenda when it has it's extreme guests on.

Everyone knows what Jeremy Kyle is now and at least there is a bit of honesty to it, unlike all these programmes on C5 especially like "Benefits this" and "Immigration that" which are far more exploitative.

I'm some respects knowing their historical track record of closing channels at very short notice (e.g. Granada Plus) I'm half surprised ITV haven't decided to axe ITV2 and replace it with ITV Be. I can't help wondering how ITV can in the long term sustain so many channels.

If an HD version exists, surely it will occupy the same position (Ch 179) on HD boxes, as the SD version does on SD boxes. Same situation as Sky 1 on 106 ?
No HD version then? Surely that should have appeared on Sky as well as a placeholder?
