1. Michael Buerk
2. Sian Williams
3. Huw Edwards
4. Fiona Bruce
5. Peter Sissons
6. George Alagiah

ITN

1. Dermot Murnaghan
2. Kirsty Young
3. Katie Derham
4. John Suchet
5. Mary Nightingale

- I really don't like Trevor MacDonald!

On News24, Valerie Sanderson and Bill Turnbull are the pair I like the best.

On Sky News, Bob Friend, Anna Botting and Kay Burley (sp?) are my top ones.

I believe that ITV News' top three is
1 Trevor McDonald
2 Kirsty Young
3 Dermot Murnaghan

because Kirsty is 'tipped' to take over from Trevor when he retires.

I too think that Trevor McDonald is very over rated by ITV/ITN. Will Mary Nightingale go back to London Tonight when Kirsty Young returns ? Also, who is more senior Michael Buerk or Peter Sissons at the BBC ?

I think Peter Sissons

I was under the impression that Dermot was No.2 at ITN after Trevor.

Peter Sissons and Michael Buerk are officially both the top BBC presenters. One is not above the other - if anything I think Michael Buerk will be higher seeing as they granted him the weekends off a year or so ago and Peter Sisson still does them.

As for ITN, I think Dermot Murnaghan and Kirsty Young share the number two spot - they both stood in for Trevor McDonald when he was doing Evening News and was away.

Mary Nightingale hasn't worked for London Tonight for quite a while, I don't think. She presents Wish You Were Here? and is signed up as a newscaster on ITN for quite a while I think. Not sure what she'll do when Kirsty Young returns...maybe go back to Lunchtime?

John Suchet has the lunchtime gig as sole anchor now, he also does ITN News Channel Breakfast doesn't he ? Maybe Mary Nightingale will move to lunch and John will just do the News Channel. I have to say ITV have a weird choice of news anchors at the weekends.
