But I agree with Andrew that it was commissioned for one series and ran for one series it HASNT been axed just not recommisioned. But i'm sure people on this forum will use that to maximum effect for another anti-ITV rant!

There can be no doubt it was intended to be a cornerstone of the daytime strand, and had it been a success the 'series' would have blended together in the same way This Morning etc do.

Quibbling semantics is rather pointless when it's clear the programme didn't deliver what was expected of it.

A great shame.

Not really, they've also got this one with Jerry Springer starting soon, no doubt other talk show formats as well.

As I said elsewhere, they've got 30-odd different shows in the pipeline, so its obvious about 10 or 15 of these will be "axed"

There will no doubt be a report soon that "Mum's on Strike" has been axed

The studio for Peoples Court looked a bit mid-90's to me anyway.

It also said in the paper that a member of staff was suspended last month after an alleged attack on a girl in an argument over a broken autocue machine. Shocked

My male parent lectured me on the way they leave a silly gap between "we gind in favour of.......................the...............................defendant" and how firstly it wouldn't happen and secondly it's a crap cliched way of building up tension.

I have to agree.

Odd that he didn't comment on their strange way of saying "find" Wink

I would consider that a plus!

I have to say, although I am not a viewer, People's Court isn't nearly as bad as some of the trash ITV could have come up with. I would much rather see 'Mum's On Strike' be axed/not re-comissioned (or however you like to term it).

Let's face it - This Morning is the only long-running, constantly successful, always-guaranteed-to-be-popular ITV daytime show that has held on to a firm timeslot. Paul O'Grady is still very new, Des And Mel have been moved, and Loose Women is always chaging its timeslot (although admittedly remains popular wherever it is).

I think ITV need a morning debate-style show. We don't actually have ANYTHING like that on British TV at the moment other than The Wright Stuff, and even that focuses primarily on a 'celebrity' panel. ITV should capitalise on a void that I believe still exists since the departure of Kilroy.

Well, fives Trisha has picked up rather a lot on five. From 300,000 from its debut in that time slot(9.25am) to even peaking at 700,000.

It would be great if ITV brought back The Time The Place.

Even tonight SMG are still pleading for people to take part in the show. In the last few days they have also been looking for audience members.

I've just watched it on ITV2 for the very first time and I quite liked it. The only problem I had was the set, if this is supposed to a court of law then the set should at least look like a court. And the Judge should dress like a judge.

i have been an audience member. I left smg towers with a sore head after Rhondda "dae yi like ma teeth" anderson kept going on about some family wrestling case. I feel so sorry for Carol. She thought this would get her "back in the game" as it were.... Sad Very Happy Arrow

Yes I also think that as well.....it looks more like an 90's wine bar than a courtroom.

Now if Queens Cross was still standing in Aberdeen STV could have nicked the set of Grampian's "We The Jury" which was an excellent debate show from the early 90's........this did in fact look like a courtroom.........but no doubt it was slung on the bonefire when Grampian sold out to SMG and moved into their new bed-sit in Altens!!!
