ITV could still axe 'Channel Tv', but we'd be talking about the generic name for the network, Independent Television (most likely, more specifically OFCOM), as opposed to the plc.
Though this isn't what the thread is about so hmm, so back on topic,
I think it would work better for ITV if they remove the numerals from their channel names. I think it would enhance the brand.
If they were to do this, I think 1 and 2 could remain numbered, but . . .
3 could become ITV Classic, or ITV Archive, or Vintage, or something along those lines. This would be very similar to this hypothetical 'ITV AXE'.
4. could become, . . . I'm not sure, because I don't ever watch it.
I find that at the moment the channels' brands are too vague, and over-lapping. I'm sure I saw 'Kindergarten Cop' on ITV3, then ITV2 the next day.
