as you can see, they've replaced the cast with a much younger selection, in the old days, they officers looked like officers, not school kids.

Here's a scene from one of next week's episodes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUrftf3ndAw Wink

Unfortunately that is actually true to life. Where i live, most bobbies on the beat are in their 20s. Some barely fit the uniform they're so scrawny, but give them a unmarked SMART Car and a log book and they think they're TJ Hooker.

(I cannot believe the only famous policeman i could think of was William Shatner....)

Although the old bill was great, the new bill is far superior in my opinion! In 2010, every episode has been outstanding and very moving. they have even managed to create some story lines amongst the cast ie. the morale problem after Sgt. Stone was shafted. The show has returned to being a proper drama and I thought the new format, look and excellent backing and theme music would carry the show for another 5 years before another new look was commissioned.

For the last episode, I think that although it would be ironic if the station was closed down to cut costs within the police Very Happy ,a real explosive exit would be much more appropriate!

Yeah I think The Bill had become more dramatic, that is 'gritty', but it's all the trimmings that came with the revamp that was problem for me and others: The way it's filmed, the scrapping of Overkill, incidental music, loss of some of the humour and good characters (Supt Heaton and PC Stamp).
