The DJ on Invicta FM has just said that Elton John's new song will be used as the signature tune to The Premiership this season. Is that true? Ironic if it is, considering Sky Sports are using it with him in the advert.
What's wrong with A Beaultiful Day by U2, which survived last year's graphics changes? Waste of time changing the tune every couple of year, though it's obvious that new visuals are needed.
I think that 'Beautiful Day' by U2 fits the programme; viewers wont relate to shows is they totally change the theme tune. I doubt viewers will like it if they did. I can understand tweaking theme tunes, but to change it! People went mad when match of the day made tweaks to their tune!
When Xchange started on the CBBC Channel (from launch day) they used the theme tune that they have now; yet a week in they asked viewers what style of music they want for the theme tune and a vast amount voted for the music to stay the same!
Perhaps Elton John's song has something to do with the premiership thus why sky sports are using it; though I bet this is true and another DJ with incorrect knowledge!

Maybe he meant the Premiership coverage on Sky. I don't see the point in changing ITV's theme now. Beautiful Day is now associated with the game, and I don't think the programme would benefit from the change.
