It was used in the generic trailers used around Christmas in the 80s.
There was an earlier logo, but it was never used on idents.

Here's an Anglia trailer with it from 38 seconds in. Simply, the word 'Anglia' emerges from the ITV logo and sits above it. Very corporate. This design wasn't unique to Anglia and I've seen it before on (I think) Central, although I can't currently find any videos of it. So this animation was used across the network, quite probably...
Also, the complete animation of that Central ident referred to above here at 29 seconds. This particular junction's rather unusual as the ident is allowed to playout for a good few seconds before the announcer comes in. Central's style was usual to gab over the ident as soon as it appeared. I think it was a presentation style unique to that station...

That logo was used for the 88 channel promo
and 84 promos

That logo was also used, with the colours of the rainbow, for ITV Schools on 4, from 1987-1993.

I mentioned that when I first brought up it's existence.
There was an earlier logo, but it was never used on idents.
It's probably best known nowadays as the Channel 4 ITV Schools logo.

I'm worried this is the best we're going to get pres-wise for their 60th! I doubt they will have any special idents, or even amend the current idents. I'm sure they could easily add a diamond style '60' next to the 'ITV' on the idents, and have the image playing behind the '60' reflecting in the numbers, maybe with a faint glitter/glow effect round the edge. Doubt that would be too hard to do for the pres department.
You'd think a tv company that's been going for 60 years would want to embrace it, but I guess ITV want to forget a lot of their history as they don't seem to ever like mentioning any regions any more. Often even in clip shows etc they only ever say 'ITV' instead of Granada, Thames, ABC, Yorkshire etc. It's such a shame they don't embrace their brilliant history more. Its much more interesting than BBC etc.

If you caught part one of The Saturday Night Story the other week, it felt like a glorified tribute to LWT, however LWT was not mentioned once, only ITV, and ITV Studios on the South Bank. Weirdly though it referenced Ulrika Johnsson as a weather presenter on TV-am.

TV-AM was a programme in the eyes of most though, so that's no surprise.
It's also no surprise that ITV 60 is more low key. They made a massive deal over the 50th, and I suppose they don't want to be doing all the same things every 10 years. Those 10 years come around quite quickly.

I'm gonna call an ident with a birthday cake being cut in the background with "60" on it...
