Interesting choice of logo to use. Presumably it's for the nostalgia of it.

Or that a junior staff member just went on google images and took any logo they found, which I wouldn't discount these days.

Details of the programmes to commemorate ITV's 60th

It's basically some clip shows & a live Corrie (with an ITV2 after show with TV Forum favourite Stephen Mulhern). Doesn't feel as much effort made as the 50th.

They also celebrated 25 years of Saturday Mornings in 2005 with forum favourite Stephen Mulhern too!

Although to be fair there wasn't really an official umbrella 'ITV' logo pre-1989.

There was an earlier logo, but it was never used on idents. It's probably best known nowadays as the Channel 4 ITV Schools logo.

Not totally correct. For example it was used in some of the Central idents. 0:35 on below clip.

There was also a TSW ident that used that.

And of course ITV Telethon '88 used it across the network...

There was also this logo from the 70s...

Not sure if there are any examples around of it being used on screen. I think mainly it was used in print and official publications such as the ITV Yearbooks.

This logo was also normally used on Channel 4's 'next on ITV' slides. It did appear to be the semi-official logo until the 1989 logo came along.

'ITV' tended to be stylised differently in each new season's promos.

It's an IBA concoction, there's one for ILR in the same style, used in their publications during the 80s
