At Last someone high up admits there problems with the company and something needs to give,

To be fair, he is the new Chief Executive so he's commenting mostly from the point of view of an outsider coming in

Quote:
I just hope this includes same of the programmes. Im not sure if he got full understanding of what the problems are!

He is Chief Executive so his responsibilities and experience are more on the business side of things rather than what you see on screen (just like Michael Grade before him). Remember too that he came from Royal Mail via the FA and Saatchi and Saatchi

Was I the only one who was disappointed not to read anything about newer, better shows and network structures as opposed to introducing subscriptions?

Alot needs fixing, I agree. It should be a lot.

Online is def the way to go though I think. The ITV1HD channel being free is a great start to step into the next generation of broadcasting and I think if there was to be PPP projects that they should develop a new channel altogether.

Edit: Just remembered, I have BBC iPlayer on my Wii and my PLaystation 3. Was wondering why ITV hadn't done something the same? It's much nicer watching catchup television on my TV than computer screen.
