By having the same branding, a programme loses some of its individual identity.
Editors and producers don't decide the look. They feel more detached and it's less of their "baby".
It's a professional pride thing, I think.
It does mirror the BBC's move.
All television is homogenous.
And I can't see it being the ITV HTV News, can you?
If Granada stays this time, I doubt it will next.
