I've just spent half hour onto ITV and Sky asking why only Freeview and ntl are quoted on their trailers for ITV4.
I was told by ITV (Ian from Customer Services Team A) to call Sky for an explanation. Ian himself seemed to know very little (and nothing at all about the launch of More4 and Sky Three.)
After many navigations through the maze of telephonic pseudo-menus, I was told to call Sky again.
In the end (and at last), Audrey (Viewer Relations - at Sky) inferred that no carriage agreement had yet been reached for ITV4 on Sky, and that negotiations were still underway.
I was then put through to her Manager, who refused to make any comment (I think they thought I was from the press) and when I asked him to confirm what Audrey had said he clammed up. There is something dodgy going on - I suspect a sudden shutdown of M&M on 1 November to make way for ITV4 on Sky, and possibly ITVNC on Freeview for the same reason.

I think that line should be part of the idents. Have it flying round something from an ITV4 show and then have that animation with the logo at the end.

I've always thought ITV News was p*ss poor...But Thursdays over-sensationalised and alarmist lunch time news regarding the Bird Flu being on the verge of entering Europe was something else! 
The way they went on you would have thought we were on the verge of an apocalypse.
As for the news channel - that reached an all time low last week with the introduction of 'The Max Factor'

If M&M was closed then it would free up a channel on DTT... meaning it probably wouldn't replace M&M. ITVNC would be no great loss however.

Personally I hope now the same thing happens with Men and Motors as happened with Granada Plus, and that ITV end up closing it to get the slot on both Sky and Freeview, thus saving the ITV News channel from the axe.
And yes, the ITV NC isn't as good as it could be, but it's a welcome alternative to the BBC and Sky - and M&M's schedule won't improve with the launch of ITV4, as any decent "mens" programming will be snapped up by the bigger channel!

There's something about the way that diagonal line animates in which reminds me of the old blue and white 70s/80s HTV logo.

My instant first thought was LWT. I hope that's just someone in the ITV graphics department (if such a place exists) animating the logo for the promo and not what CBS have in mind!
I hate to nitpick (do I really? Nah I love it), but the 4 animation looks terribly unprofessional - eek!
There are two 4s in the end bit of that promo. If you've downloaded the video, open it up and look closely at the way the 4 animates. As the 4 ribbon animation completes, you can see a very slightly sharper 4 fade in over that, then a few frames later the animated version of the 4 underneath disappears. It looks far too bodged for me to even begin to speculate that this could be the way the logo on the ident animates.
I know it's so sad for me to notice that, but it's part of my job to look closely!
