I watch it - but in the cold light of day he has a point. The channel has lost some of the momentum it built in the wake of it's relaunch. Apart froma couple of hours here and there (and, of course, Alastair Stewart) it really isn't that much better than it was back in 2003.
i wouldn't be surprised to see it taken off Freeview for ITV4.

I've made my point before over in the Newsroom, but I certainly don't want to see the ITV News Channel dropped in favour of ITV4.
I agree the ITV NC isn't what it could be, but it won't get any better by dropping it from the platform where it performs best!
They claim the ITV NC is "more unprofitable" than Men and Motors, but seem to neglect the impact that arrival of a new male orientated channel will have on Men and Motors.
I've said this before, but with ITV4 it's definately a case of launching a channel for the sake of it - it's output could easily be accomodated into the ITV2 and ITV3 schedules!

I saw the trailer this evening on ITV1 at 8pm for Kojak on ITV4, with at least a slightly animated logo.
I was surprised that they only quoted the channel as being on Freeview and ntl (not Sky or Telewest).
I always assumed that it would slot in as Channel 120 on Sky's EPG. I hope Sky aren't pulling the same "we haven't got any space" stunt that they did when ITV3 launched.
That escapade brought about the demise (at very short-notice) of Granada Plus only hours before the launch of ITV3. Perhaps we will see a similar scramble to close M&M on the afternoon of 1 November
However, having said that, I believe that there would be additional problems. IIRC even though ITV plc now own 100% of GSkyB, there was a clause which would force ITV to pay Sky 50% of the proceeds of any future sale of M&M. I assume Mr Murdoch's "grey suits" ensured that there was a penalty payment if ITV simply closed M&M

I reakon this will be their excuse for not only axing the NC from Freeview but all together if they close it on Sky! You never know, it might go back to the ITN news channel to start over....again.

It had the basic (new) itv green logo in the centre, about one-third of the way down the screen (but without the number).
Then a thin white line came from the top-right corner of the screen and into the logo to form the stylised "4".
I hope that's not the best BBC Broadcast are going to offer!
