...as well as general football fans! I can't see how ITV/Sky have decided to lauch on Digital on Nov 7, given the high profile of some of the shows on it's opening night/week! Terrible!

Can see there being a few Chelsea fans with Sky being outraged they can't get coverage of next weeks match as it's on ITV4, rather than ITV1 or 2.
Do you think perhaps it might also be available via ITVi?

What you think that Sky are happy to launch a week late on Sky? Of course not. They are putting a lot into ITV4 by the looks of it, it's just a case of Sky being arsey.

I've seen the ever-increasing promos for ITV4 and the presentation style is looking temporarily interesting......although I am uncertain about the marketing "blurb" issued yesterday to explain this
"split-screen image of something you didn't expect"
, isn't that what BBC Broadcast (
oops RED BEE
) put out about BBC FOUR's new look only a few months ago?
RED BEE sounds like a company running out of creative ideas to me (I guess they must've had a "brain drain" of redundancies already). I say again that I actually quite like the current ITV1/2/3 presentation and ITV4 could have been slotted into this without a complete re-vamp.
The ITV4 presentations will be as interesting and memorable as the new Channel 4 ones were - until you've seen them half a dozen times, then they get boring.
Why can't they just go back to CGI logos which can be changed very easily (as ITV now have)

Well the general opinion on here does seem to be that ITV's CGI idents are poor and Channel 4's are the best thing since sliced bread. The anti-ITV effect may have skewed that a bit though

I know I am apparently out of step with most of the forum here...but it is a place for discussion after all
I really like C4 presentation on ECPs and promos, I just hate the "arty idents" and am not fond of the new BBC FOUR or the intended ITV4 ones either. They remind me of the ones UK Gold did 2 years ago - I can't see the point of seeing someone's feet wandering around their bathroom (UK Gold 2003) as meaning something to me any more than a pile of bricks in the Tate Gallery suggesting that it is "ART".
Maybe I just am an old-fashioned person who liked the old idents (such as "Carlton Westcountry" etc). There was nothing wrong with them (and their like), they were enough for me, had clear brand recognition and a degree of adapatability which didn't take a re-launch/re-vamp every 12 months to keep them effective.
Grrrr.......
