The building blocky one looks pretty cool.

Also, I guess I was right about this week's ident being Indian body art, as they have henna flower patterns on them.
Next week's one sounds interesting with the "flow of electricity" theme.

Why is there still a couple of seconds of black at 9:25 every morning? Is the breakfast license (whilst owned by itv) played out from somewhere differently to the rest of the network?

It's because STV take over Scottish output at 0925.
