I think you’ve actually hit the nail on the head with your last sentence here - the slogan is about the fact that the cultural impact of ITV means it is more than just TV. I think people are taking it a bit too literally.


In the era of streaming and declining television advertising income, I’m not sure the slogan is supposed to be metaphorical. ITV are trying to move towards other sources of income, hence the slogan.

‘More Than TV’ is an actual strategy within ITV, rather than just being a slogan about the cultural impact of TV.

Is ITV Hub slow and outdated? I use it a lot and think it’s fine.

They’ve always pushed odd branding phrases with elaborate campaigns; brighter side anyone?

It is a wonderful promotion that utilises the many strengths of the network over the years from light entertainment through to hard hitting documentary. The attention to detail is amazing.
