The ITV hub also seems to have adopted a dark theme which gives it a more premium feel.

This week's really doesn't show off the "ITV" aspect well in my opinion.

Stained glass window effect quite apt for this week though

From the stuff shown so far, the ITV logo on this one does almost seem like it was tacked on as an afterthought rather than being an important part of the work. Although looking at her gallery a good chunk of her work seems to be the exact same 'triangles on glass', so I'm guessing she wasn't willing to deviate too much to try and form something that was actually specific to ITV.

I like the stained glass window, it gives a nice effect, except that the ITV logo seems to be an afterthought.

I do like her idea of it being based on childrens' TV sets with its bright colours and simple shapes but yeah, it's like she added the logo as an afterthought really.

A nice idea that produces a lovely visual effect rather than the logo being part of the artwork.

It may be week 16 but I am still missing the flexibility of the last package; it gave the channel much more personality and connection in my opinion, especially with the way that specific idents could be themed (e.g. the easter chick and lambs that have been used around easter the past few years). I understand that things have to move on and that they are trying something different and giving artists a platform but by the end of each week I'm sick of seeing the same piece of artwork and hearing the few accompanying soundtracks. Saturday night was the first time in a while that I watched a lot of the channel back to back and it felt boring having each programme introduced by a similar ident, especially compared to what came before.

What doesn't help with a lot of these I think is that they always launch it with what appears to be the most 'news-safe' version of the ident, which is also nearly always the dullest one of the set and shows off very little of the art's potential. Unless GMB is covering some particularly sensitive topic, it seems unnecessary to start with the plainest one every week. And then to give it as much airtime as it gets throughout the rest of the week.

The second ident from this week, as shown into the 10.30 junction, is a prime example where the lighting and angles of the camera really brings the piece to life and looks so much better. We could still do with some more soundtracks though!
