Definitely, the current graphics on ITV2 better represent its demograpics

I'd say the current ITV2 idents aged far quicker than the 2013 - and certainly the surrounding presentation has.

Of course it’s no different to the BBC

ITV2 is a youthful channel, so has to change more regularly to keep it fresh, just like how BBC Three used to.

ITV3 and ITV3 are either older channels or channels that just quietly get on with it without any fuss, hence they can keep the same look for a long time, just like BBC Four.

It’s also worth pointing out that even if BBC One got its house in order, nobody would expect BBC One, Two, Three and Four to all have trailers that look the same.

There are a few tweaks they could make in my opinion. On the endboards the grey ‘card’ doesn’t take up all the screen but on some TVs with overscan the white gap round the edge isn’t enough to look right, it almost looks like a mistake that it is showing. I’m also not entirely sure a grey background with white text looks that great.

Brace yourself for a curt, rude, dismissive reply that ends with him addressing you as "kiddo".

To be honest I’d forgotten how consistent it was originally! ITV2 got rid of their original look relatively quickly, compared to the others at least. It only lasted until 2015, so perhaps that’s why I forgot.

They possibly got rid of it after ITVBe launched and took most of their shows like TOWIE and ITV2 was starting to change into a more youth-oriented rival to E4 and the now online-only BBC Three.

It took 11 months for ITV2 to get another rebrand, ITVBe launched in Oct 2014, ITV2 new rebrand was on a radom Wednesday in August 2015.

It may no longer line up, its still the same ITV logo overall, and thus allows some consistency though its portfolio.

I still miss the flow between trailers on the same channel or different ones.

I don’t understand the reasoning for scraping that system, they just always end the same, though I suppose a different version was needed for each channel.

Red Bee did a brilliant redesign in 2013, it was clean, different, expressed each channel individually whilst having connecting themes through the logo.

I miss all the "Where Drama Lives" etc promos I think they have gone a bit pants in the last few years.

Doesn't itv still air drama promos? Stv has a 2019 drama promo airing since December.

I think you're probably right in that nobody would expect it from the BBC now however in years gone by (admittedly over 20 now) we did have exactly that on the BBC - and it even extended to the UKTV channels at the time, too.

People on here are probably just disappointed/frustrated that ITV have gone from a comprehensive redesign with a consistent (but flexible for each channel) approach to the more fragmented look we have now - as always happens with these types of things.

Wasn’t a feature of the new promo styles to allow programme-specific branding to appear (eg. a trailer for Coronation Street might show the title of the programme in its own font, not the ITV font)? Or have I misunderstood or misinterpreted this? I’ve seen no evidence of anything like this on promos.

Programme specific branding appears to be limited to the colour of the slide on the endboard, which in turn forms the colour of part of the cut out logo.

Eg. Red for The Voice, purple for Millionaire.
