UTV wouldn't be at the front of their minds.

As much as I hate Oneness over on BBC One at least the presentation is consistant in the regions.

That's why most of us would like an itv Northern Ireland brand so we can be consistant with the network.

utv never have had great presentation since 2000 so it really would be nice to see it streamlined with the network. But alas, we've got to wait at least a year for that possibility now.

I’m not entirely sure that is what most people here want.

When you consider how many times the axing of regional idents 17 years ago gets brought up and now ITV PLC are always seen to be big bad bullies destroying regional identity.

Nail on the head. You simply can't please this forum

No, you certainly can't. And let's be real, the newer members just need to get a grip and get used to change.

ECP animation just failed. It crashed on air rather awkwardly.

Problem with the ECP after Millionaire. The zoom out to the ECP didn't occur for a few seconds, causing everything to speed up and seem wonky.

So the first artist only gets 6 days?

Not very fair.

Maybe he gets the odd days at the end of the year, and technically will have eight Wink

They should give Martin Parr a week. Probably from the beginning of April.

I’d rather give him week w/c 29th February.

No, seriously they have. Starting on April 1st (apparently).

Very Happy ITV even provided a stepladder

The more I see this the less I like it. The reduction of colour segments and the more muted colour scheme in the ITV logo seems like a mistake to me, and makes the logo far less adaptable than it was in the colour picking era.

I never really liked the previous trail endboard design. I much preferred the original with the full sized ITV logo, making great use of the colour picking feature, and a less simplistic gradient background.

The layers concept and the muted colour scheme really seems more suited to something like More4 or Sky Arts than a big entertainment channel like ITV.

EDIT: sp, ‘far less’ not ‘for less’

Agree with pretty much all you've said. I don't dislike it per se however it is a shame the slickness and uniformity of 2013 has well and truly gone out of the window now. In 2013 we had lovely matching design across the family...

...whereas now the first 2 are completely different and ITV3 and ITV4 still have the same familiar look from 2013...

Edit: thanks to the fabulous Ident Gallery for the caps.

To be honest I’d forgotten how consistent it was originally! ITV2 got rid of their original look relatively quickly, compared to the others at least. It only lasted until 2015, so perhaps that’s why I forgot.

What was the reason for the itv 2 2015 rebrand? I really liked the original red colour and the out there idents

They possibly got rid of it after ITVBe launched and took most of their shows like TOWIE and ITV2 was starting to change into a more youth-oriented rival to E4 and the now online-only BBC Three.

It aged far too quickly and with the change of the channel dynamic (Family Guy etc instead of TOWIE which moved to Be.) it was a step in the right direction, although I’d say it’s probably time for new ident pieces to be put in the shuffle.
