Slightly odd that one of the images of the ECP shows it obscuring a credit at the bottom! As if it was designed on purpose.

Well, looks like DBLG has already put up their case study for their work on the ITV rebrand.
Turns out the main colours of this rebrand are the corporate teal of ITV and black whilst the secondary colours consist of gold, orange, red, burgundy, hot pink, purple, navy blue, light blue and green.
Plus they can make card-style graphics for promoting the rest of the ITV family on the main channel with the channels' respective colour schemes added.

Inspired by ITV2's obscuring of the credits during the transition?

JA
So has ITV Be with those ribbons. And there's no way CITV should have the same design as everything else. The only place the generic design belongs on outside of the main channel is when promoting multiple channels on the ECP.
ITV2 has got quite a strong unique look, especially with the trailers, so I don’t think that is ready to phase out yet.

The tweaked opening to GMB this morning as part of the new look. Tweaked in the sense of they've moved the introductory itv logo from the left to the centre now, given the main idents no longer have the left-aligned logo anymore. No changes to the number of segments actually on the logo mind, as some people seem to be getting very angry about in this thread. Yes, definitely one to go on the 'smallest edits in history' list!

I don't really understand what's inconsistent here?
Probably (s)he means they should be trying to be fully inconsistent to be consistent
In the sense that ITV3 and ITV4 still have the "unified" look from 2013, the rest is fine
I'm in agreement that they've lost some consistency. Five years ago the entire family had a unified, solid brand. What they've now done has muddied the water.

Indeed
But I have an issue with this "creativity" thing: I feel they should just have a rotation of the best idents created each week (at least that's what I hope they'll start doing in 2020) rather than new ones every week, because I think it'd rather sad to lose them, especially some of them
Of course surrounding pres doesn’t have to match up with idents. Most channels don’t.
Idents don’t have to be programme appropriate or themed to the programme that follows. Remember times when ITV used to lead into every programme with a single ident?

No. I don’t understand. Sorry.

I like that they are using both the 3 piece and 5 piece.
It's just a shame that utv then becomes an afterthought in a refresh that only really fits itv.

That's great. Good to see how the cut out idea works too. I'm sure their corporate brochures will have that across the first few pages

Those snowflakes will just have to think of it this way...
There's always 5 segments, it's just that sometimes some adjacent segments have the same colour.
