There's no way an 8 year old did that. Unless they were encouraged by a pres mad parent Razz

I was obsessed with TV pres when I was tiny - about around 6! Always doing stuff like this with the old logos too so I would’ve chomped at the bit to do this if this was around when I was small - it’s not that unlikely! Razz
MarkT76, MrDexB and BBI45 gave kudos

Saw a teaser for this during In For A Penny - looks interesting.

It's a nice idea, but I'd hardly describe any of those adverts as popular. OK, the Honda one at a stretch which was butchered so things didn't actually "work". (Yes, I get it's a sponsorship deal, but...)

Trouble is, my definition of an iconic ad looks to be things that can't be advertised in the same way or probably aren't that suitable given the current circumstances:

I'd say the Aldi one is pretty iconic.

It was certainly one of the more memorable. If you asked someone to name an iconic Aldi advert though, I'm sure they would now say "Kevin the Carrot".

That British Airways ad with hundreds of people forms a human collage of a face that smiles, winks then turns into a map of the World, I'd honestly forgotten how brilliant that ad was, and IMHO remains one of the best TV commercials ever made.

Slightly poignant too given the state of BA now thanks to this bloody virus.

Unless I'm missing something, that site doesn't use the word 'iconic' anywhere, it says 'popular'. Apart from the Honda one, the ads in the break are popular contemporary ones.

That's a nice idea, shades of #hometasking. Would be nice to recreate famous old ones but the ads are being broadcast as actual ads and companies don't always want to, or can't, broadcast their old advertising

I’ve always thought something like that would be a great concept for a new BBC One ident package - lots of people coming together* in stunning locations across the country, creating a symbol, image or logo.

(*obviously not at the moment)

Not one that can be recreated now though and not a company that'll be currently advertising I'd have thought.

Not sure I've seen an ad for Cadbury's Smash for a while either.

It's clearly advertisers they've managed to get on board rather than plundering the archives for the ultimate classics.

Also, a reminder of where we ended up last time the public were asked to recreate the Shake N Vac ad:

It's not been Cadbury's for quite a while. Currently it's Batchelor's Smash!
