Well I mean lockdown aside, you have lord knows how many weeks of idents in one year from commissioned artists supporting the arts vs years of one set of idents from some overpaid director - which will be looked on as a bit of an oddity when it eventually passes into obscurity.

This is a really good idea by itv. Last week I was looking through all of the entries on Twitter and there are some really detailed bits of work. Have they shown the logo yet that is made up of lots of itv show logos such as the chase, X factor, I'm a celeb etc?
If this is a CGI ident, why have a pole connecting the dot on the 'i'? It looks cleaner without it, and they're only really a necessity for real-life models.
Yeah, I'd say the logo is a model, but CG was used for the background with all the kids' designs spread out, and for superimposing the kids' artwork onto the logo. The trail for this initiative shows just the model on a black background.

To think ITV can manage to put these together at this time whereas I'm sat here watching a crowd of people walking Llamas through a field into Would I Lie To You.
Yeah, ITV obviously have their priorities sorted. In the same amount of time all the BBC did was put together a 14 week home schooling project. Shame on them for not prioritising idents. In 20yrs time when we're looking back on how TV covered the deadly 2020 global pandemic these idents will definitely be remembered as the shining example of what
really
mattered.
BBC Creative didn't put together a 14 week home schooling project any more than ITV Creative has kept its channel's daily live programming on air.
In 20 years time when this forum looks back at 2020 it'll be Oneness v ITV Kids Creates.
I'm sure it will. In the real world however, even for TV forum, demanding the BBC pander to a handful of entitled, anal nerds during a pandemic is not a good look. Nobody likes Oneness but get a grip.

Presumably to make it look real.
Wouldn't the model of the logo already exist from the very first ITV Creates ident, the one with the projector?

Several more additions today. Maybe there'll be new ones everyday this week?

Charming.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's CGI, and as Jon says, the supporting dowel connecting the i would be to make it look like a real object. The Ravi Deepres ident which launched ITV Creates used a giant model which came apart in segments. It would make a lot of sense to render these new idents in CGI due to their adaptable requirements and also avoid having to shoot in a studio.
